Professor bites Mich. officer
A Michigan State University professor whose wife coaches the women's basketball team was arrested on an assault charge after he emptied a trash bin, swung it at an officer and bit him on the finger at an airport, police said.
John Douglas McCallie, a 56-year-old associate professor of economics, was charged with felony counts of battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence, and a misdemeanor count of breach of peace.
