Boys Chorus School teacher faces sex charge

A teacher at the private Newark Boys Chorus School was charged yesterday with sexually assaulting one of her students, a 13-year-old, during encounters at her Morris County home and in a hotel.
Tracy Booth, 31, was held on $200,000 bail after her arrest late Monday at her home in Mount Tabor, Essex County Prosecutor Paula T. Dow said. School headmaster Lawrence C. Emery said Booth had been suspended and the school was cooperating with police.

Booth was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault and one count of child endangerment relating to the hotel encounter. She could face similar charges regarding the two encounters at her home, prosecutor's spokesman Paul Loriquet said.
