Normally, it seems, when a female teacher is caught with a male student, the penalty is not harsh. Jeri Deanne Perez, of Phoenix, was not so lucky. Ms. Perez, who was arrested in January and charged with three felony counts for engaging in sexual activity with a 14 year old, has been sentenced to ten years in prison, and lifetime probation.
