Teacher, 54, charged with having sex with boy, 14A 54-year-old Washington County teacher accused of having sex with a 14-year-old boy who attended one of her classes has been charged with second-degree rape and second-degree sodomy, authorities said today.
Officers arrested Charlene Schmitz of Carson Road in Leroy on Friday after the boy's mother approached authorities with a stack of sexually explicit e-mails she claimed the Leroy High School teacher sent to her son, said Washington County Sheriff Richard Stringer.
"We questioned witnesses, and the boy confessed to what was going on," Stringer said. "He said it had been happening since April, mostly at her residence."
