Edward Vincent Norton, 41, was a football coach and English teacher at Lake Howell High School, in Winter Park, Florida. He fell in love with a 17 year old student, even gave her an engagement ring. Now, he'll be doing a year in jail, and another year of house arrest.
The victim, who is pregnant and married to somebody else, wrote the judge a letter saying she was a willing participant and not harmed by their relationship. His lawyer said that Norton was a good teacher, and no danger to the community. Apparently, the judge disagreed.
