Teacher charged in molestation

A California School for the Deaf teacher was charged today with four counts of lewd and lascivious conduct on a child.

Daniel Ray Metroka, 51, of Riverside was arrested by Riverside police and the California Highway Patrol on Saturday for suspicion of child molestation, according to a statement by the Riverside County District Attorney's Office.

Metroka is charged with lewd conduct with multiple victims under 14, the statement said. The District Attorney's Office said the crimes did not involve any students at the school and did not occur at the school.

Cobb substitute teacher charged with sex crimes

Investigators charged Michael Pegram, 31, of Douglasville, with five counts of sexual battery "stemming from encounters with students" at Riverside Elementary School, police said today.

students have alleged inapprpriate touching, said Jay Dillon, spokesman for Cobb County schools. Pegram also taught in the district's after-school program at Skyview, Bryant and Austell elementary schools, Dillon said.
