Under the Influence

Substitute Teacher Charged With Open Container

A substitute teacher in the Ray-Pec School District was arrested Tuesday afternoon for allegedly being under the influence, officers said.

School officials said Karen Charron, 58, from Belton, was serving her second day in the district when a staff member reported a change in the teacher's behavior.

Peculiar officers arrested Charron shortly after 1 p.m. She was charged with possession of an open container and endangering the welfare of a child
