Former Newport Teacher Pleads Guilty To Smoking Pot


ormer Newport High School teacher Brandon Hall pleaded guilty Monday to smoking marijuana with students.

As part of the plea agreement, the commonwealth attorney is recommending Hall be on probation for three years.

Last fall, Hall resigned as a teacher after police videotaped him smoking a marijuana with several of his students.

They were at the home of school board member Jim Hesch and his his wife Helen, a teacher at Newport Middle School, at the time.

The Heschs resigned their positions as part of a plea deal.

They were accused of allowing teens drink in their home.
