Teacher charged in bugging incident

A science teacher at Flushing Junior High School will face criminal charges for allegedly bugging another teacher's classroom.

The teacher, 44, was charged Thursday with one count of attempted eavesdropping, a misdemeanor that carries a maximum penalty of a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.

A police investigation alleged the science teacher went into the school after hours to plant the device.

There had been allegations of problems involving the science teacher's daughter and class disruptions.
