Poor Guy!

A New Jersey teacher has been accused of an ongoing sexual relationship with an underage student. James Darden, of Teaneck, New Jersey, was a popular teacher who received a $25,000 educator's award in 2005.

Although he is paid more than $62,000 a year in his position as a middle school teacher, he showed up to court without an attorney, and told the judge he couldn't afford one. With that kind of income, he'd have to have more than one BMW to be as broke as he claims.

See the whole story here.

In our society we are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. My son had Mr. Darden for his eighth grade English teacher and he excelled under his tutelage. We plan to follow this story very closely and hold judgment until all the evidence is in. Although this unfortunate situation has presented itself, he is an exceptionally good teacher and I hope and pray he is cleared of all charges.
