Ex-teacher pleads no contest to sex charges, faces jail timeFormer Roseville teacher Kelly Christine Spaich pleaded no contest Tuesday to a felony charge of having unlawful sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old student and was sentenced to four months in the Placer County jail.
However, Placer Superior Court Judge Robert P. McElhany said Spaich, 28, is eligible for alternative sentencing, which means she may not spend time in jail. Spaich's attorney, Tim Balcom, confirmed that his client will apply for the alternative sentencing.
Balcom also said Spaich will not teach again.
