Police: Teacher, intoxicated, endangers child
A special education teacher was six times the legal limit for intoxication Friday night when she dropped and dragged her 2-year-old son aboard a harbor cruise ship, allege police.
As a result, Holly Spreen, 34, of 39 Langdon St. and 26 Piscassic St., Newmarket, was arraigned in Portsmouth District Court Monday on a charge of child endangerment.
Brought from the Rockingham County House of Corrections where she was held over the weekend, Spreen was also charged with violating bail conditions as a result of a domestic assault charge.
Prosecutor Corey MacDonald told the Herald Spreen’s .49 blood alcohol concentration, which was measured by medical professionals at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, was high enough to induce a coma or cause death.
