Ex-KHS principal arrested

Police arrested yesterday former Kagman High School principal Doreen Tudela for allegedly stealing the school's sale of pizzas worth over $36,000.

Assistant attorney general Mike Nisperos said police served the arrest warrant on Tudela late afternoon yesterday.

Nisperos said Tudela was charged with grand theft in excess of $20,000, an offense that makes the defendant eligible for 10 years in prison.

The Superior Court imposed a $10,000 cash bail for the defendant's temporary liberty. A bail hearing is expected to be held today.

Tudela is currently the Public School System curriculum and instructions officer.

Nisperos said that whenever Pizza Hut wants to sell pizzas on campus at Kagman High School, the establishment has to pay for that privilege. Pizza Hut usually pays about $2,500 to $3,000 a month and the money goes into a fund for student activities.

Nisperos said Tudela, as then principal of Kagman High School, created the bank account and deposited the money there. She then allegedly withdrew the money for her own use.

Police: Child porn found on principal's computer

An abandoned desktop computer containing sexually explicit images of children has led to the arrest of a Florence school district principal.

Jeffery R. Yazwa, 35, was arrested in his Johnson Ranch area home today after being indicted by a Maricopa County Grand Jury on 12 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and dangerous crimes against children.

According to the FBI, a person provided the federal agency with the abandoned computer. An investigation showed that the computer had been abandoned by Yazwa at a former residence.

Yazwa, principal at Walker Butte K-8 school, requested a leave of absence for the Florence district Sunday.

Ex-principal found guilty of kissing students' feet

A former principal who kissed three male students’ feet to pay off what he said was a bet from a student-teacher volleyball game has been found guilty of a misdemeanor charges of sexual imposition.

Robert Holloway, 50, the former principal at St. Anthony of Padua School in Lorain was convicted after entering a no contest plea Tuesday in Lorain Municipal Court.

He also was convicted of unauthorized use of public property, also a misdemeanor. He faces up to 15 months in prison at his sentencing in June.

“It’s not behind me yet,” Holloway said as he left court.

Holloway resigned as principal after the 14-year-old students and their parents reported the March 2006 foot-kissing to police.

Holloway told authorities that he paid each student $15 and kissed their bare feet 50 times in the school’s library and gym.

Police Sgt. Mark Carpentiere said 400 images depicting adult foot fetish behavior were found on two school computers seized from Holloway’s office.

The photos depicted the scenarios that he had engaged in with the boys, Carpentiere said.

High School Principal in Gary Facing Criminal Charges Resigns

A high school principal on administrative leave since January after police alleged he shot at his estranged wife's sport utility vehicle has resigned.

Michael Banham formally resigned as principal of Calumet High School on Monday just hours before a public hearing to discuss his employment.

Lake Ridge Superintendent Sharon Johnson-Shirley declined to discuss the content of the resignation or reveal any negotiations for benefits. Banham could not be reached for comment because there was no telephone listing for him.

Banham, 36, of Valparaiso, was arrested Dec. 29 and charged with battery, intimidation and criminal recklessness. He is accused of shooting at the SUV carrying his estranged wife, Nichole Banham, in Hammond. He then rammed her car with his orange Hummer on Interstate 65, police said.

Principal has 'suffered enough'

A public school principal who threw human excrement at a child last summer "has suffered enough" from the resulting humiliation, according to a judge who granted her an absolute discharge on one count of assault in a Toronto court yesterday.

While the discharge means Maria Pantalone, 49, will be spared a criminal record, her career remains in limbo as the Toronto District School Board considers whether her behaviour makes her unfit to work with children in a school setting.

Principal Accused Of Having Porn On Laptop Avoids Ax

NBC5's Marion Brooks reported that the Bellwood School District 88 board voted 4-3 to not follow Superintendent Nichelle Rivers' recommendation that McKinley Elementary School principal Paul Glover be fired. Glover has been suspended with pay, Brooks reported.

Rivers said she had no intention of allowing Glover back into the district.

"I have to keep doing what I know is right, and keep making the recommendations to the board that I believe are right," Rivers said.

District officials in suburban Bellwood claim to have found pornography on the laptop. Officials said Glover was warned and reprimanded in November when the superintendent did a random sweep of school-issued computers, which are to be used for school business only. Instead, they said, he added more.

"He was warned in November about the photos," said school board member Antoinette Davis. "He then doubled, tripled the photos in March."

Glover is accused of having inappropriate pictures of grown women dressed as children on the laptop. Glover was suspended without pay on March 6.

Elementary principal jumps off bridge, commits suicide

The woman who jumped to her death Thursday afternoon from the tallest bridge in Ohio was the principal of a Clermont County elementary.

At approximately 4:40 p.m., Eileen M. Murphy, 55, of Cincinnati, parked her 2002 Honda Accord in the right lane of northbound Interstate 71, near the south end of the Jeremiah-Morrow Bridge, got out and jumped off into the Little Miami River some 240 below.

Father says principal assaulted his son

The principal of a Charlotte-Mecklenburg middle school is suspended with pay following allegations that he assaulted a student.

Russ Hosey says his son, Nathan, a student at McClintock Middle School, witnessed a fight Friday and was sent to go with Principal Andrew Thiel to tell him what happened. And as Thiel was addressing another class, Nathan saw friends in the classroom and began waving. That’s when he says it got ugly.

"He told the class to wait just one moment and simultaneously turned around and punched my child in the chest with his fist, sending my son stumbling backwards across the hallway," Hosey said.

Hosey says there were witnesses in the hallway and his son was gasping for breath. He says only after addressing another class did Thiel escort Nathan to the nurse's office.

Fort Bend principal placed on leave over e-mailed photos

A Fort Bend Independent School District elementary school principal has been placed on administrative leave after she admitted sending e-mails containing photographs of children, school district officials said Friday.

"The pictures are not pornographic," said school district spokeswoman Mary Ann Simpson

Ann Sandoval, the principal at Ridgegate Elementary School, used her home computer to send the e-mails to school staff members, Simpson said.

Simpson said the photographs contain such images as young boys urinating into flower pots. She said the children appeared to be 3 to 5 years old.

"She thought they were funny and saw no harm in it and didn't mean to offend anybody," Simpson said.

Funny eh? Perhaps to some, but I prefer The Colbert Report myself. If she's going with the humor defense she should have had better common sense. What would happen in a role reversal w/ a male principal sending the same pictures of little girls.
